Breaking News: Michael Jackson Dies At 50

I'll always remember what I was doing when Michael Jackson died. I was shocked when I learned of his sudden death at age 50 of cardiac arrest. Though he was plagued with financial troubles, scandals, and lawsuits in recent years, his influence in music was great. He'll be missed.

DEADLINE post-it stop motion

We use post-it notes every day to jot down quick reminders. Bang-Yao Liu, a senior project at Savannah College of Art and Design, used these sticky notes to create designs that interact with the guy in the video. The notes talked to him and form a hammer, hitting his head as he dozed in front of his computer. It's fun and creative. Very well done.

Hand Gestures

Hand gestures are part of our personal and cultural expression. They add to the effect of our messages. They are like the punctuation we put on the end of our sentences, in this case, verbal and non-verbal communication. One woman demonstrated some of her common hand gestures and others' responses to them. She did it in an entertaining manner.

Obama Picks Sotomayor for High Court

At a press conference, President Obama nominated Sonia Sotomayor, federal appeals judge from New York, to the Supreme Court. If confirmed she would replace Justice David Souter. She would be the first Hispanic to serve on the high court. We've come a long way!

DM Stith - BMB

Hauntingly beautiful, this film noir by Armel Hostiou explored feelings and emotions through the facial expressions and movements of Vanessas Dora Lavorato. It depicted a journey from darkness into light and back again. In the process, it captured the inner turmoil and entrapment within all of us. How artistically stunning.

US Pole Dance Championship 2009

During the US Pole Dance Championship 2009, female competitors showed off their body and flexibility as they worked the pole. Wearing very little, they served to tantalize the viewers with their movements. Very seductive. I think that's the point.

Tatu Performed at Eurovision 2009

The Russian singing duo, Tatu, gaved an electric performance at the Eurovision 2009 in Moscow. They sang, holding hands, "Nje vjer, nje bojsa," during the opening of the contest. Later, they energized the crowd with their song "Not Gonna Get Us," with the Russian army beating drums and marching behind them. They know how to put on a show. They are quite sexy and provocative!

First Lady Michelle Obama Commencement Speech @ U.C. Merced

In Michelle Obama's first speech as First Lady, she talked about her reasons and inspirations for choosing U.C. Merced, started in 2005. She went into her own background and the struggle, hope, community, and perseverance that she identified with in the Merced students. Her speech was hopeful and inspirational.
