Feminism :: Women's Health
Women's health is a specialty within the male-dominated medical profession. Being traditionally caregivers, we often don't take care of ourselves as well as we take care of others - our parents, children, spouses and partners. We also have different set of issues that affect our health such as hormonal changes, child birth, menopause, breast cancer and other diseases. In order to get the best care possible, we need to be informed and pay attention to our bodies. We need to demand for women-focused medical research so that we are not taking drugs tested on mainly on men. Without health, we have nothing.
The Proverbial Roses
One woman talks about how finding out someone close to her is diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The news has changed her perspective on life. She realizes how short life is and how important it is not dwell on the small things. When we have our health, we take it for granted. Cherish everyday that we are breathing and make the most of it.
Breast Cancer Awareness
This artfully crafted video of a woman pole dancing to "Born Slippy" demonstrates that breast cancer can affect anyone. This is a really powerful message. We need to take care of ourselves. We should get ourselves tested often.
