Everyone dies of something. Elizabeth Edwards lost her battle to breast cancer that has spread to other parts of her body. We mourn her death. She was so human. We knew her in a public way through the media. She was married to John Edwards, Vice-President candidate and former senator from North Carolina, who betrayed her. We identify with her struggles, the breakup of her marriage, infidelity, death of her teenage son, and her own fight with cancer. Death reminds us to celebrate life and live in the moment, no matter how difficult.

We all know having unprotected sex can lead to pregnancy. Dr. Flisser explains how ovulation works. He highlights the varying probabilities of pregnancy during different days of our menstrual cycle. Unless we are actually trying to get pregnant, we should consider using some form of birth control. Sex is great. Enjoy it!

Michelle Obama promotes healthy eating by planting a vegetable garden, among them, spinach, snow peas, carrots, and mint. She started digging into the White House lawn with a group of students to get it started. With the recession, many Americans are turning to planting their own fruits and vegetables. It saves money. Tending to a garden can be a bonding experience for the family. Here's to healthy eating, healthy family.

Me Smoking

Many females have turned the camera on themselves while they puffed on their cigarette, in the most seductive manner. I've noticed these sexy and tantalizing videos of females smoking and wonder if smoking is becoming more prevalent among females. They definitely are doing their part to glamorize it again after years of anti-smoking campaign.

Smokers often form their habits young. Full of life and vitality, they don't think about the long-term consequences to their health. Smoking is the major contributor to lung cancer, emphysema, and cardiovascular diseases. Of course, I don't need to remind anyone of that. It's common knowledge yet health risks don't deter many from smoking. Different smokers I've talked to say that the addiction is hard to break.

For now, let's watch this young woman puff away. What does smoking do for her self image? It looks like she is projecting a certain image of coolness and sexiness. If you are a smoker, think about what you get out of it. What are you projecting? Why do you smoke?

The surge in multiple births endanger the health of mothers. Statistics show that one in 80 natural births result in multiple pregnancies, while one in four pregnancies following fertility treatment produces multiple births. In the future, women receiving IVF will be allowed to have only one embryo implanted, instead of the two for women under 40 or three for those over 40 currently. Some fear this will reduce the chances of pregnancy. Read more.

If there's a vaccine that would prevent cervical cancer, why not use it? Virginia has passed legislation to require all sixth-grader girls in Virginia to be vaccinated against the human papillomavirus (HPV) that can cause cervical cancer. What a morbid thing to find in your meal: a human finger! Anna Ayala found this in her chili while eating at Wendys in San Jose. Her discovery started a search for the owner of the finger. If you really think about it. We eat fingers and other body parts of animals all the time through our consumption of meat. It's equally disturbing for me to munch on the different body parts of animals as the thought of seeing a human finger. Read more.

Americans are putting on more and more weight. Diet programs are making money on people's obesity as they struggle to fight it or just let it go. It's not just a matter of looking good, living longer and better, it's also aggravating the bankrupted airlines.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that airlines spent more in fuel costs due to America's problem with obesity. Are Americans getting fatter because they are eating less healthy, exercising less, lacking self-control or all of the above?

It's up to each of us to change our eating and exercise habits. We need to take control of our body. It's the only one we are given. Love your body. Love your self. Read more.

For vanity sake, some women do many injuries to themselves, just so they can look more attractive to the opposite sex, or the same sex, depending on their orientation. They wear high heels that throw off that balance and posture. Often they get plastic surgery of all kinds, including breast implants, that also throw off their posture.
