In a culture that accepts extra-marital affairs are accepted, Japanese men are practicing their romancing skills on women. To initiate these relationships, the men need to subscribe to the "Love By Mail" service. This is not an escort service, or dating service. The women these men romance with are nothing more than pre-programmed computer scripts. They seem to get the job done. One of the 30,000 Japanese men who signed up for the service said, "You have the happiness of a secret woman, a hidden relationship, with none of the fear that your wife will find out and be angry. Study finds that telecommuters are happier with their jobs. Four of of ten employees surveyed believe they can do their job from home, yet only 16 percent of employers allow it. Telecommuting can ease the strain of commuting and allow workers more time to spend with their families. Happy employees contribute to greater retention. Read more.

Harper's Bazaar in its April, "the dotcom issue," is the first fashion magazine to devote an entire issue to the topic of getting wired - or at least how the magazine and it's advertisers think the wired geek girls should dress. The issue also asks such questions as, "Are there gold diggers lurking around Silicon Valley hopint to marry a millionaire?" Maybe, maybe not. Read more.

According to a survey released by UCLA, females entering four-year institutions are using computers almost as much as men but they are far less confident about their computer skills than their male peers. Females' lack of confidence in their technical skills steers them away from planning for careers in the computing and technical fields. Read more.
