With striking imageries of girls standing alone, together, and strong against a militant, male front, Beyonce continues to inspire in her latest video, "Run the World (Girls)," about girl power and solidarity. The struggle for survival of oneself, of girlhood is a primal drive. Beyonce is in control, amid danger and chaos. She leads an army of girls, dancing and forging ahead. She doesn't waver. She pushes onward and forward. She conveys her strength, without compromising her femininity and sexuality. She owns it. We own it.

Girls, we run the world. Believe it. Believe in ourselves. Stand together. Stand tall. Pushing, pushing, always forward.

Through music, song, and passion, we are universally connected. A young woman sang while a man played the guitar next to her in the corner of a room. They had written the song together a year ago, but it's still relevant to her. We could feel it as she sang, so casually, freely, and beautifully. She exuded love and warmth. It's joyous!

Enrique Iglesias heated up the stage of "So You Think You Can Dance" when he performed his his hit song, "I Like It," with Pitbull. He brought the dance party as dancers from "So You Think You Can Dance" performed alongside him. He's as sexy and compelling as ever to watch. Hot, hot, hot!

Lady Gaga performs her new song "You and I" on "The Today Show," to a huge crowd at the Rockefeller Plaza in New York.  She talks to the hosts about her fame and inspirations.  She's simply amazing.

Welcome to summer time in California where the girls are pretty and the sun shines brightly. Katy Perry champions California girls in her song, "California Gurls", by capturing our spunky, fun-loving nature. It's a make-believe candyland. We participate in it and perpetuate it. We make it our reality. Make a splash, make love, and make this summer one to remember. Katy Perry rocks!

One of my favorite singers, Tori Amos, sings at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee. She dedicates "Upside Down" to Earth and the devastation in the gulf. Tori's music possesses an incredible power to heal. We all need some healing sometimes.

I'll always remember what I was doing when Michael Jackson died. I was shocked when I learned of his sudden death at age 50 of cardiac arrest. Though he was plagued with financial troubles, scandals, and lawsuits in recent years, his influence in music was great. He'll be missed.

Tatu Performed at Eurovision 2009

The Russian singing duo, Tatu, gaved an electric performance at the Eurovision 2009 in Moscow. They sang, holding hands, "Nje vjer, nje bojsa," during the opening of the contest. Later, they energized the crowd with their song "Not Gonna Get Us," with the Russian army beating drums and marching behind them. They know how to put on a show. They are quite sexy and provocative!
