Michelle Obama urges all of us to help the survivors in the aftermath of the Haiti earthquake that has left so many homeless, dead, and in need of medical and emotional relief. She's telling us to text $10 to the American Red Cross so they can deliver the water, food, and medicine to those in need. We can do our part by texting "HAITI" to 9-0-9-9-9. There are many charities that take donations to help the survivors of the Haiti earthquake. It's important that we make sure our donations are getting to those who need help. During this time of tragedy, we are reminded of our common humanity.

Girls cannot go to school and women cannot work. Some Afghan women are fighting back. Mothers are to gather in Washington on Sunday in their attempt to convince lawmakers to take action on gun control legislation. They want to save their children. Bill Clinton is hoping that this will prompt Congress to act. Nearly 10,000 women and men, many of them parents of children who died in gun violence, will march. Dr. Laura Schlessinger who has called gays and lesbians "deviants" and "biological errors" on her radio show should not be given TV time, according to protesters. However, Paramount Television, a unit of Paramount Pictures, is planning to go ahead with televising her show. It has already sold the show in more than 160 markets across the US. Read more.
