Laleh and Ladan Bijani both died during a 52-hour operation at Raffles Hospital in Singapore last Tuesday. They were finally buried side by side in separate coffins yesterday in southern Iran. The Velez family was on vacation from Australia in Chile when a hit and run killed their 10-month-old Mariana Velez. They decided to donate Mariana's liver to a very ill baby, Matias Guajardo. They turned their own trajedy into hope for another baby. The mother of donor recipicient Matias is overwhelmed with emotion.

Albert Einstein wrote, "A person who has not made his great contribution to science before the age of 30 will never do so." Satoshi Kanazawa, a psychologist at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, studied the biographies of 280 scientists and found that scientific productivity fades with age. His study revealed that within five years of marriage, nearly 25% of the scientists made their last contribution to science. Criminals who are married also stop committing crimes.
